Local VHF Channel Usage
Please Note :- If an operator is using a repeater channel, such as channel 80, in simplex mode then he will either :- It is much more likely that he will be transmitting on the repeater input frequency as repeaters have a better reception range than marine transceivers have a transmission range. Under long distance propagation conditions which usually occur during summer our local repeater - Ch 80 Eagle Bay - can receive transmissions from the Ch 80 Kalbarri Marine Rescue area. These are rebroadcast by the Eagle Bay repeater. However Kalbarri can't receive transmissions from stations communicating via Eagle Bay. Receivers Marine VHF band hand held transceivers and scanner radios are readily available. These can be used to remotely monitor the Eagle Bay repeater and the marine band. |
